Building types split almost evenly between two classes: attached or semi-detached one family houses with 96 sales and frame two family houses with 95. Two-story detached houses followed with 45. Overall, 61% of sales were one family and 39% two family, and none were three family.
These are big houses. The median had 2,058 square feet on a 4,000 square foot lot, second only to Tottenville in size. A typical one family in Prince's Bay, Woodrow, Rossville, Charleston or Pleasant Plains measured 1,790 square feet and sold for $800,000; a typical two family measured 2,600 square feet. Per square foot, the median was $447, seventh of the twelve ZIPs.
The median of all 2025 sales was $885,000, and a quarter came in under $720,000. Rensselaer Avenue was the busiest street (14 trades since 2025 began), with Harris Lane (13), Lorraine Loop (11) and Rathbun Avenue (10) close behind. The city filed 91 of last year's sales under Woodrow, 67 under Princes Bay and 60 under Rossville.
